The Chemistry Department Organizes a Training Course on the Dangers of Chemicals in Chemistry Laboratories

The Department of Chemistry at the College of Education for Pure Sciences organized a training course on (the dangers of chemicals and their impact on workers in chemistry laboratories), delivered by: (Asst. Prof. Dr. Jahan Hamid Abdel Amir), (Asst. Lect. Nada Habib Obaid), (Asst. Lect.  Maha Jassim Munshid).
The course aimed to identify chemical risks in laboratories and educate students on how to work in the safest environment. In addition to empowering students with the ability to properly deal with risks.
The course also included a detailed explanation of the classification of chemicals according to their danger and the proper handling of each type. It included methods for the correct storage of chemicals and methods for dealing with laboratory accidents.
The researchers called for attention to such topics in order to educate students about the dangers of chemicals and to conduct practical training for students in fire extinguishers. In addition to conducting courses on first aid and training students on emergency planning.
