The College of Education for Pure Sciences organized a scientific symposium entitled (Suicide from an educational, religious and legal point of view), delivered by the lecturers: (Prof. Maitham Hussein Hamza) from the College of Education for Islamic Sciences / University of Karbala, and (Prof. Dr. Hamid Jassem Aboud) from the College of Education for Islamic Sciences / University of Karbala, and (Dr. Malik Mutlaq Takhit) from the College of Education for Pure Sciences / University of Karbala. The lecturers at the symposium dealt with the phenomenon of suicide from three aspects:
1_ The legal aspect.. It was clarified by Dr. Maitham Hussein, the jurisdiction of the law.. He touched upon the procedures and penalties followed against the instigator, the cheerleader, and all those who promoted and assisted the phenomenon of suicide.
2- The religious aspect.. It was clarified by Dr. Hamid Jassim, the jurisdiction of Sharia and jurisprudence, where he touched on religious matters that forbid the phenomenon of suicide and prohibit it, indicating this through Quranic verses and honorable hadiths.
3_ The educational aspect.. It was clarified by Dr. Malik Mutlaq, where he touched on the educational procedures to be followed towards the individual who intends to commit suicide and what are the methods that are taken to convince and retreat from suicide.. and how to deal with this person by listening to his problems and extending a helping hand and assistance to Overcoming the difficult circumstances he is going through and what is the mechanism to contain him, instilling confidence in himself and overcoming all difficulties. The seminar was attended by a large group of college students.
