The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Education for Pure Sciences, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Farah Aboud Saleh, organized a distinguished awareness campaign targeting female students in the department. This was achieved through the distribution of informational brochures highlighting the dangers of cyber extortion and ways to prevent it.
The brochures included important information about the concept of cyber extortion, the most prominent methods used by extortionists on social media platforms, and practical tips for protecting personal accounts and sensitive data. The campaign also emphasized the importance of not responding to threatening messages and the necessity of reporting any case of extortion to the relevant authorities.
The college affirmed that this initiative stems from its commitment to enhancing digital awareness among students and protecting them from the increasing dangers in cyberspace. It also pointed to the importance of cooperation between educational and community institutions to mitigate this phenomenon.
The campaign was met with a positive response from the students, who praised the importance of this step in strengthening their security and technological literacy and empowering them to deal consciously and responsibly with digital challenges.
