A Scientific Workshop Discusses Ways to Invest in Clean Energy in Iraq as Part of the Sustainable Development Conference.

On the sidelines of the Sustainable Development Conference, and under the patronage of the President of the University of Kerbala, Prof. Sabah Wajid Ali, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Pure Sciences, Prof. Hamida Aidan Salman, the College of Education for Pure Sciences held a scientific workshop entitled “Investing in Sustainable Energy in Iraq.” The workshop was presented by Dr. Basim Al-Lami, Engineer Mahdi Azzam, and Asst. Lect. Zaid Salah Abdul-Sattar.

The workshop included a theoretical component highlighting the importance of sustainable energy in Iraq, ways to rationalize electricity consumption, and optimal methods for utilizing solar energy, especially since Iraq possesses significant potential in this field due to its abundant sunshine.

The workshop also included a practical component, during which a complete solar energy system was operated. An inverter was connected to a battery, and several electrical devices were successfully powered using systems from the global company Singru. This allowed attendees to directly observe the process of generating electricity from solar energy.

The workshop was organized and followed up by Asst. Lect. Zaid Salah Abdul Sattar, in support of the college’s direction to link the academic aspect with practical application, and to promote a culture of using clean energy in Iraq.
