The Department of Chemistry at the College of Education for Pure Sciences organized a workshop entitled “Environment and Sustainability towards a Better Future.”
The workshop was presented by: Assistant Professor Dr. Sawsan Khadir Abbas Assistant Professor Dr. Jahan Hamid Abdul Amir
This workshop aims to emphasize that environmental sustainability is a fundamental necessity for building a balanced future based on collective responsibility to reduce the depletion of natural resources, encourage the use of renewable energy, promote a culture of recycling, and preserve biodiversity.
The workshop included several discussions on the necessary efforts to develop sustainable environmental policies, support innovation and clean technology, invest in scientific research, and enhance community awareness of the importance of sustainability.
The researchers recommended focusing on such topics to achieve a vision of a future in which humanity lives in balance with nature, while ensuring the continuity of resources for future generations and achieving social and economic justice.
