A Lecturer from the Department of Mathematics Publishes a Global Research Paper.
Assistant Professor Dr. Hazem Ghadeeb Kalt from the Department of Mathematics published a research paper titled “The Survival Power Weibull Distribution with Application”
in the journal STATISTICS, OPTIMIZATION AND INFORMATION COMPUTING within Scopus Q2 ranking.
The aim of this research was to study a new three-parameter survival distribution, with its properties and applications to real data. The new three-parameter survival distribution was constructed by combining the Weibull distribution and the Survival Power-G family. The newly introduced model is referred to as the SPW distribution.
The research included a newly formulated distribution with the advantage of effectively modeling various types of data, proving its usefulness in the fields of reliability statistics and survival. Several statistical properties relevant to the SPW distribution are examined in this study.
The study concluded by presenting empirical tests of the SPW distribution using two real data sets. Furthermore, the SPW distribution shows good fit, supported by comparisons with Weibull-based models and other alternative distributions using several goodness-of-fit assessments.
