Scientific Symposium

Within the series of scientific activities conducted by the scientific departments in the College of Education for Pure Sciences and under the guidance of the respected Dean of the College of Education for Pure Sciences (Prof. Dr.Hamida Aidan Salman), the Department of biology in cooperation with the Women’s Empowerment Unit held a scientific symposium entitled (Electronic extortion and its role in violence against The Woman) delivered by (Professor Ahmed Abdel-Hussein Attia) in the auditorium of the late Professor Hussein Ali Abdel-Latif. The symposium shed light on electronic extortion. Since the advent of social media, Iraq has witnessed the spread of electronic extortion crimes, and such a serious crime has become a source of concern for all members of society, especially women and girls, as many victims have claimed. Crimes: Activating the oversight role on the part of parents, stressing and being careful about the methods of using these sites and knowing what is published in the accounts of their sons and daughters, taking into account the preservation of privacy if the children are aware of what they are doing on those sites. It was attended by teachers, researchers, and a group of people interested in this topic. We wish for more creativity and progress in the field of meaningful scientific activities and cooperation between academic and scientific institutions in service of our dear college.
