The Department of Biology Discusses a Master’s Thesis on the Cytotoxic Activity of Propolis Nano-particles on Human Cancer Cell Lines

Discussion of a Master’s Thesis

The Department of Biology at the College of Education for Pure Sciences has discussed a master’s thesis for the student (Kawthar Nehme Negm) titled (The cytotoxic efficacy of propolis nanoparticles on human cancer cell lines), under the supervision of Prof. Dr. (Yasmine Khudair Khalaf). The discussion committee consisted of:

Dr. Khaled Hamdan Othwan (A President)
Dr. Rana Iyad Ghaleb as (A Member)
Dr. Hassoun Sakban meeting as (A Member)
Dr. Yasmine Khudair Khalaf as (A member and Supervisor)

The aim of the thesis was to try to find natural alternatives used in the treatment of cancerous diseases. It was concluded from the thesis that the occurrence of cellular and genetic effects by increasing the concentration of ethanolic and nano-extract, the ethanolic and nano-propolis extracts caused the occurrence of cellular effects represented by growth inhibition and a decrease in the number of colon cancer cells.
After extensive discussion and the student’s defense of her message and research method, the thesis was accepted and with distinction. Congratulations to the student and her supervisor, to the College of Education for Pure Sciences for this achievement, and to the University of Karbala, and to more creativity in the service of our beloved Iraq, the Iraq of science and scholars, and God Almighty grants success.
