Doctoral Thesis Discussion

The Teaching (M. Abbas Fadel Hadi Mohammed) from the Department of Physics at the Faculty of Education for Pure Sciences on a PhD from the Faculty of Science/Mustansiriya University for his thesis entitled: (Structural, electronic and optical properties of heterozygous structure (M = Pt, Sn )/GaX (X = P, Se)).

The thesis aimed to calculate the structural, optical, and electronic properties of the GaP, GaSe, PtSe2, and SnSe2 monolayers (nanosheets), as well as the stacking effect on the PtSe2/GaP, PtSe2/GaSe, and SnSe2/Ga SnSe2/GaP

The dissertation also included knowledge of the binary layers that are of interest to researchers by discovering the unique features they offer above their single-layer counterparts. The resulting heterogeneous structures, which we expect to have an acceptable image absorption gap, can be used in nanoelectronic devices, electronic devices, and photovoltaic devices such as solar cells. Therefore, these materials will be examined for the first time using the functional density theory (DFT). The researcher came up with future work by considering the impact of high temperatures and pressure on the electronic structure and the optical properties of monolayers and heterogeneous structures. Study the impact of vacancy defects on the electronic and optical properties of the studied heterostructures. As well as the impact of vertical and dual-axis strains on the optoelectronic properties of heterostructures studied using DFT calculations.
