The College of Education for Pure Sciences Organizes a Training Course on Professional Development for Fourth-year Students.
The Department of Mathematics at the College of Education for Pure Sciences organized a training course entitled “Professional Development for Fourth-Year Students: Preparing for the Job Market and Creating a Professional Resume.”
The course was presented by: Dr. Mohammed Yahya Abdul, Asst. Lect. Ayat Khalid Saghir, and Asst. Lect. Maryam Khaniab Karim.
This course aims to prepare students for the transition from university life to the job market by familiarizing them with the requirements of modern jobs and how to present themselves professionally.
The course covered several topics, including an introduction to the job market and its components; the difference between the public and private sectors; available job opportunities for mathematics graduates; essential skills required for employment; types of interviews and how to prepare for them; common interview questions; and body language skills.
The researchers recommended the importance of focusing on such topics to develop personal and professional skills, emphasizing effective communication, leadership, and teamwork, as well as enhancing problem-solving and decision-making skills.
