The College of Education for Pure Sciences Participates in the First Scientific Conference of Kerbala Scholars 2025


The College of Education for Pure Sciences participated in the First Scientific Conference of Kerbala Scholars 2025, organized by the governorate to find solutions to the problems and challenges facing the city. The conference featured research sessions where participants discussed a number of research papers presented at the conference. Among the most prominent participants in these research sessions were Asst. Prof. Dr. Khader Abdul Hussein Khader, Asst. Professor Dr. Muthanna Nahedh Ali from the Department of Chemistry, and Assistant Professor Dr. Safaa Muhammad Redha from the Department of Physics.
The conference identified four areas requiring research and solutions: the problem of renewable energy, environmental pollution, and the problem of public transportation for the millions of pilgrims during the Arbaeen pilgrimage. The conference also focused on the most important patents obtained by the governorate’s residents, including professors, students, and specialists. The conference received more than (240) research papers, which were evaluated by a committee formed by the University of Karbala and the governorate. The committee accepted more than (100) of these papers, which met the conference’s stringent specifications. The conference was attended by a group of university deans, professors, and researchers, as well as official figures, department directors in the city of Karbala, and the head of the Karbala Academics Syndicate. In his speech at the conference, University President Professor Sabah Wajid Ali stated, “This conference represents an important step towards disseminating this experience. It aims to activate the role of scholars in confronting contemporary challenges, anticipating future prospects in various fields, and providing solutions for various sectors.”
For his part, Karbala Governor Engineer Nassif Jassim Al-Khattabi highlighted the city’s religious, touristic, historical, and scientific assets, noting that “the conference represents a true beginning for Karbala’s strategy, which we hope will proceed according to a solid scientific framework.” He emphasized that the governorate will adopt the winning research submitted by researchers, whether from universities or department employees, which can provide real solutions to the city’s problems.
For his part, the Chairman of the Higher Education Committee in the Karbala Provincial Council, Dr. Mohsen Al-Kinani, explained that the submitted research addresses the needs of the city, which is suffering from some problems despite the reconstruction it is witnessing. He praised the efforts of the professors from the University of Karbala, who played a significant role in examining the research submitted to the conference and demonstrating its validity and accuracy, as well as the efforts of the organizers.
