The Department of Biology in the College of Education for Pure Sciences organized a scientific symposium on metamorphosis, delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Israa Nasser Ghulam. The aim of the symposium was to introduce the concept of metamorphosis in animals, as a biological process in which an organism’s appearance changes radically, as in butterflies and frogs. Its benefits include reducing competition between larvae and adults for environmental resources. Its applications in sustainability include understanding the role of metamorphic insects in ecological balance and natural pest control.
