Meeting of Heads of Physics Departments in Colleges of Education for Pure Sciences at Iraqi Universities


The Head of the Physics Department, Asst. Prof. Dr. Adel Jalil Najm, attended a meeting of heads of physics departments in colleges of education for pure sciences at Iraqi universities, which was held at Dhi Qar University/College of Education for Pure Sciences, to standardize curricula according to the Bologna System. The most prominent topics raised at the meeting were the approval of the number of subjects per course for each level, at (7) subjects, with a total of (30 ECTS) credit hours per course, bringing the total credit hours for the four years to (240 ECTS). The meeting also included the approval of the educational subjects to be similar to each other, with the approval of the graduation thesis to be in the second semester of the fourth level only, for a total of four hours.
The second semester of the fourth level also included two specialized subjects. According to the discussions, the education directorates in the governorates should be contacted so that the student can devote two days each week to completing the requirements of the graduation thesis and the specialized courses. Which has been approved.
