This seminar aimed to explore the concept of suicide from a psychological perspective, understand the psychological and social causes leading to suicide, clarify the Islamic stance on suicide, and promote the concepts of psychological resilience and prevention.
The seminar covered several themes, including the psychological theme: defining the phenomenon of suicide from a psychological perspective and discussing psychological disorders associated with suicidal behavior (depression, anxiety, and despair). It also addressed the social theme, explaining the impact of social and economic pressures on individuals, and the religious (Islamic) theme, examining Islam’s position on suicide and the sanctity of human life. The researchers recommended paying attention to such topics in order to strengthen psychological counseling programs within educational institutions to provide ongoing support to students, both psychologically and socially, especially during times of crisis and stress.
