Assistant Lecturer Alia Abdullah Hantoush from the College of Education for Pure Sciences conducted a training course at the College of Religious Tourism entitled “Climatic Factors and Sustainable Tourism Planning.”

The course aimed to explain the concept of sustainable tourism development and its importance in addressing modern environmental changes. This has led many tourist destinations worldwide to implement sustainable tourism development plans, aiming to overcome existing challenges and capitalize on the positive aspects of their environments.

The course also covered the direct and indirect impact of climatic factors on the tourism sector, and their role in enhancing tourist appeal or affecting natural resources.

The researcher recommended the importance of focusing on such vital topics, given the significance of the tourism sector and its close connection to natural landscapes, environmental features, and cultural characteristics of regions. Furthermore, the sector is highly sensitive to climate fluctuations and changes, both directly and indirectly.
