The College of Education for Pure Sciences Organizes a Training Course on Physiology and Vital Functions
The Department of Biology at the College of Education for Pure Sciences organized a training course entitled “Physiology and Vital Functions.”
The course was presented by:
Dr. Ali Hussein Kadhim Asst. Lect. Bashair Ali Sakab Asst. Lect. Sally Nasser Abbas
This course aimed to explain physiology, the study of human body functions and vital processes. It included a historical introduction to physiology in past civilizations, including the Mesopotamian and Nile Valley civilizations, and introduced students to the most important body systems and their functions, such as the nervous and cardiovascular systems.
The course covered several topics, including an introduction to physiology (organ functions), a definition of physiology and its importance in understanding human body functions, and its relationship to other medical and biological sciences.
The researchers recommended focusing on such topics to enhance the practical and applied aspects through physiology laboratories, thus bridging the gap between theory and practical experimentation. Students should be encouraged to consult modern scientific references in the field of physiology. Emphasis should be placed on the importance of understanding the physiological basis of common diseases to enhance their clinical skills in the future.
