The College of Education for Pure Sciences Holds its Second Scientific Conference on Sustainable Development…

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Kerbala, Prof. Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, and the President of Al-Ameed Private University, Prof. Dr. Jawdat Nouri Al-Jashami, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Pure Sciences, Prof. Hamida Aidan Salman, and under the slogan:

(Sustainable Universities…A Bright Future), the College of Education for Pure Sciences held its second scientific conference on sustainable development.

The conference began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah for the souls of the martyrs of Iraq, followed by the national anthem.

In his address, the University President emphasized the university’s role in achieving sustainable development, stating that sustainability is a responsible approach to meeting the needs of the present while also fulfilling the requirements of future generations. He further explained that moderating resource consumption is essential, as sustainability has become a strategic choice and a shared responsibility requiring integrated efforts across all sectors of society.

The Dean of the College then delivered a welcoming address to all attendees, explaining the importance of the conference. She stated that sustainability represents a comprehensive vision for building the present and shaping the future, contributing to balanced development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the rights of future generations.

The Assistant Administrative Director of Al-Ameed Private University, Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Karim Abdul Rahim, was also present. He commended the College of Education for Pure Sciences for hosting the conference, explaining that it serves as a scientific platform for exchanging perspectives on achieving sustainability within the university. He added that the conference can lead to appropriate solutions for addressing contemporary challenges.

The conference was also attended by the Head of the Deans’ Committee for Colleges of Education for Pure Sciences, Prof. Dr. Ali Hussein Shuaa Al-Tai, the Head of the Kerbala Branch of the Academic Syndicate, Asst. Prof. Dr. Khalil Hamid Radhi Al-Awadi, and numerous professors from universities both within and outside the University of Kerbala.

The conference included its main themes, which included all scientific departments to research the mechanisms of scientific reality to achieve the goals of sustainable development. The conference included (50) research papers, and (20) research papers were accepted and discussed in the sessions of this conference.
