In conjunction with the Cultural Dates Festival, the College of Education for Pure Sciences organized a workshop entitled “Date Palm Cultivation in Afforestation and Sustainable Agriculture Projects.” The workshop was presented by Dr. Ban Abdul Hussein Mohammed and attended by Engineer Razzaq Ali Radam, Head of the Agricultural Authority of the General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein.

The workshop focused on the importance of afforestation in maintaining ecological balance and increasing green spaces through the planting of date palm seedlings and ornamental plants. It also highlighted the significance of Iraqi dates as an important agricultural and economic product that contributes to supporting the local economy and enhancing food security.

The workshop concluded with the honoring of participants through the distribution of certificates of appreciation to the engineers and supervisors of agricultural projects affiliated with the General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein, in recognition of their contributions and efforts in supporting afforestation and sustainable agriculture projects.
