A Physics Department Student Wins in the Closing Marathon of the Iraqi Cultural Week for Combating Drugs…

As part of the closing events of the Iraqi Cultural Week for Combating Drugs, student Karrar Haider Mughair, from the second year of the evening studies program in the Physics Department, won the sports marathon. Most of the university’s colleges participated in the event, which aimed to promote health awareness and reinforce the role of sports in reducing negative phenomena, especially the dangers of drug abuse.

He was honored by the President of the University of Kerbala, Prof. Sabah Wajid Ali, in the presence of the Dean of the College of Education for Pure Sciences, for his outstanding achievement of securing one of the top positions in the race, amidst fierce competition among university students. The University President commended the efforts made to ensure the success of the week’s events, praising the students’ level of participation and their active involvement in awareness and sports activities.

This participation aligns with the university’s mission to promote a culture of sports, raise student awareness of the dangers of drugs, and reinforce the understanding that sports are one of the most important preventative methods for promoting physical and mental health.
