The Chemistry Department Holds a Series of Seminars for Comprehensive Exam Students
The Chemistry Department at the College of Education for Pure Sciences held a series of scientific seminars for postgraduate students (comprehensive exam) regarding the doctoral research plan of student Ali Abdul Rahim Kadhim, entitled:
(Design, Preparation, and Co-linking of Porphyrin Nanoparticles: Stability Evaluation and Biological Applications)
Supervised by Professor Dr. Mohammed Nadhim Al-Bayati and Professor Dr. Muhannad Musa Karim from the University of Babylon/College of Science
This research aims to develop polymer-based nanosystems of porphyrin derivatives for use in biological applications. It focuses on the design and preparation of porphyrin derivatives and their linkage to nanopolymers to form drug carriers with high targeting and selectivity properties. Furthermore, the study includes an evaluation of the physical and chemical properties of the prepared compounds.
Bioassays are also being conducted to assess the biological activity of these prepared compounds. This work represents a significant step forward in the development of multifunctional drug delivery systems that combine environmental responsiveness, bioavailability, and high selectivity, opening up new horizons in biological applications.
