In implementation of the scientific memorandum of understanding signed between the College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Kerbala and the University of Lorestan in Iran, Prof. Dr. Amir Qasim Ghazanfari, the external examiner for the Department of Mathematics, delivered a scientific workshop on the latest concepts in the field of functional analysis, a branch of modern mathematics with broad applications in applied sciences and engineering.
The workshop was opened by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Hamida Eidan Salman; the Scientific Assistant, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ghassan Adnan Qahtan; and the Administrative Assistant, Professor Amjad Al-Husseini, in addition to a number of faculty members and students from the department.
During the workshop, the lecturer addressed the most important modern research trends in functional analysis and the most prominent challenges facing researchers in this field. He presented practical examples that highlight the importance of this specialization in developing mathematical models and analyzing physical phenomena.
The workshop featured fruitful scientific discussions and interventions between the lecturer and attendees, reflecting the students’ and professors’ engagement with the topic and contributing to expanding their horizons of knowledge.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the Dean commended the efforts made by the lecturer, emphasizing the importance of holding such workshops, which enhance the exchange of scientific expertise and open up avenues for cooperation between Iraqi universities and their foreign counterparts.
