The Department of Chemistry at the College of Education for Pure Sciences organized a scientific lecture on the concept of equality between men and women.
The lecture was presented by Asst. Dr. Jihan Haider Khalil.
This lecture aimed to introduce the concept of equality, emphasizing that it does not mean complete “sameness” between men and women, but rather equal opportunities in all areas of life and the right of every individual, regardless of gender, to develop their human potential without restrictions imposed by gender.
The lecture included several topics on the dimensions of equality in society, equality in education, employment, and community participation, as well as the role of academic institutions in promoting a culture of equality.
The researcher recommended the need to pay attention to such topics in order to spread community awareness about the concept of true equality based on justice and equal opportunity, and to strengthen the role of educational institutions in instilling the values of equality and mutual respect between the sexes.
