The Dean of the College of Education for Pure Sciences, Prof. Hamida Eidan Salman, held an expanded meeting with the Scientific Assistant, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ghassan Adnan Qahtan, and the College’s Scientific Activities Committee to discuss the annual plan for training courses, scientific workshops, seminars, and research. This meeting is part of the College’s efforts to enhance scientific activity and raise the academic and research level.
The Dean emphasized the importance of prior planning for organizing scientific activities throughout the academic year, ensuring diversity in topics and integration between academic departments.
Mechanisms for raising the H-index for faculty members were also discussed, as were ways to encourage scientific publication in international journals indexed in the Scopus database. They emphasized that solid publishing is a fundamental pillar for raising the academic rankings of the College and the University.
The meeting concluded with a set of recommendations, most notably the preparation of periodic reports to monitor the progress of academic activities and the activation of cooperation between academic committees and academic departments to ensure the achievement of the desired goals of developing the college’s academic and research progress.
