As part of the series of scientific activities organized by the Department of Life Sciences, a seminar was held for doctoral student Ahmed Hamid Jassim, titled “Immunological Diagnosis of Cryptosporidium parasites in Karbala Governorate.” The seminar was supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Ban Musa Hassan The aim of this seminar was to diagnose Cryptosporidium parasites and determine the prevalence of the parasite among people suffering from diarrhea and its relationship to epidemiological factors in Karbala Governorate using various diagnostic methods. Microscopic examination, which includes staining samples with modified acid-base fluorescence (MAF), and molecular testing using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technology were used The results of the study demonstrated the diagnosis of Cryptosporidium parasites using microscopic, immunological, and molecular diagnostic methods in stool samples from patients in Karbala Governorate The study compared the effectiveness of various immunological techniques and highlighted the importance of immunology in detecting and controlling infection. And studying the relationship between infection with this parasite and some epidemiological factors such as the patient’s gender, age, residential area, and the month in which the sample was taken
