Honoring Top-Ranking Student in Correctional Facility


Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, honored student Aqeel Zaid Nabil, an inmate of Karkh Central Prison, who completed his studies as part of the Prisoners’ Education Program, sponsored by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in coordination with the Ministry of Justice and implemented by the University of Information Technology and Communications, as part of the policy of integrating inmates into society through education.
During the meeting, attended by the President of the University of Information Technology and Communications, Dr. Abbas Al-Bakri, Minister of Education, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, emphasized that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and its universities actively participate in inmate rehabilitation programs and offer qualitative initiatives aimed at rebuilding individuals and enabling them to continue their university education according to academic curricula designed for this purpose. He praised the positive message this goal conveys in the fields of psychological and correctional rehabilitation.
