The University of Karbala has entered this year’s QS World University Rankings (QS World University Rankings 2026: Top Global Universities) for the first time since its establishment. The university’s president, Prof. Sabah Wajid Ali, stated that this achievement is an important step towards strengthening the university’s scientific and academic standing internationally. He pointed out that the university’s entry into this global ranking is the culmination of the continuous efforts of all university staff and reflects the university’s commitment to international academic standards. The QS ranking relies on a number of indicators to measure the performance of international universities, including academic criteria aimed at assessing the quality of education, scientific research, international openness, and graduate employment. The QS World University Rankings is one of the most well-known and influential university rankings in the world and is issued annually by the British company Quacquarelli Symonds, which specializes in higher education and study abroad.
