The Department of Mathematics Organizes a Workshop on the Spread of Recruitment and Extremist Religious Movements

Workshop

The Department of Mathematics at the College of Education for Pure Sciences organized a workshop on the spread of recruitment and extremist religious movements. The workshop was presented by Asst. Prof. Hamid Jawad Kadhim.
This workshop aimed to explain the concept of recruitment and how it spreads, especially with the emergence of violent extremism in societies where state institutions are viewed as oppressive, corrupt, ineffective, and illegitimate.
The workshop also included several topics on combating violent extremism in the country, particularly after Iraq invested international support in the liberation of Mosul. This victory requires leveraging this victory to formulate a national policy that is not affected by extremism to protect Iraqi national security.
The researcher recommended the need to prioritize this issue through combating it, which requires gaining the trust of individuals and, consequently, society, and supporting its broad sectors through massive efforts to build state institutions and programs for legislation, reform, and national reconciliation.
