The College of Education for Pure Sciences organized an awareness lecture on “The role of Muslims in combating harassment: an individual and societal responsibility.” The lecture was delivered by Asst. Prof. Muslim Sadiq Hadi. This lecture aimed to introduce awareness through the Prophet’s hadith, “Love for your brother what you love for yourself.” It also explained that shamelessness, adornment, and the gestures women display, as well as harassment for the sake of friendship or marriage, are harmful. The lecture also included several topics on treatment methods, including not giving space and self-accountability, as well as adopting morals as a role model, and imposing strict penalties on those who commit such acts. The researcher recommended the need to protect individuals from harassment by spreading awareness and the necessary culture, as well as establishing laws against those who commit this crime.
