The Physics Department Organizes a Training Course on Improving the Radiation Training Properties of Gamma Rays in Some Polymeric Materials

Training Course

The Physics Department at the College of Education for Pure Sciences organized a training course on improving the radiation training properties of gamma rays in some polymeric materials. The course was presented by Prof. Abbas Jawad.
This course aimed to explain how dental x-rays and gamma rays interact with different materials, medical problems, side effects, and their effects on various types of materials.
The course also included several topics on the potential effects of radiation on nanomaterials, whether pure or nano-enriched, a study of the properties of new armored materials, and the use of new nanomaterials in the process of improving training to protect against the harmful effects of gamma rays.
The researcher recommended the need to pay attention to such topics because the use of high-energy ionizing radiation, especially gamma rays, is growing rapidly in many sectors such as industries, nuclear reactors, medical diagnostics, and nuclear research institutions.
