The Dean of the College of Education for Pure Sciences, Professor Hamida Eidan Salman, attended the first Careers Conference of 2025

The Dean of the College of Education for Pure Sciences, Professor Hamida Eidan Salman, attended the first Careers Conference of 2025, held by the College of Engineering at the University of Karbala. The conference brought together a number of researchers, specialists, businessmen, private sector business owners, and successful projects.

In his speech during the launch event, University President Professor Sabah Wajid Ali stated that this conference is the first forum of its kind in Iraq for creative and innovative individuals. He noted that it is a true platform for building bridges between graduate students and private sector business owners, and represents an important step towards instilling a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation among young graduates.

The Governor of Karbala, Engineer Nassif Al-Khattabi, stated that the local government partners with the University of Karbala in all scientific initiatives that support the construction, reconstruction, and development movement and address major challenges. He indicated that the conference is a platform for opening up prospects for cooperation with the private sector and embracing the expertise and innovations of the university’s graduate students.

For his part, Dr. Firas Al-Maslamawi, a member of the Parliamentary Education Committee, added that the conference stems from the real need to provide job opportunities and the demand for graduates to be hired in various fields and specialties through partnerships with the private sector.

In the same context, the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Haider Nazim Al-Muhanna, explained that the conference aims to open up avenues of cooperation between the College and companies and public and private institutions, and to provide an interactive environment for students and graduates to showcase their skills and increase employment opportunities in various engineering disciplines. He added that the conference addressed topics such as entrepreneurship in the age of modern technology, artificial intelligence and the future of the workforce, modern technology and environmental sustainability, and other fields.

The conference was attended by the Chairman of the Federal Public Service Council, Mr. Mahmoud Al-Tamimi; the Governor of Karbala, Engineer Nassif Jassim Al-Khattabi; the Director of the Office of the Popular Mobilization Authority and the Holy Shrines; a number of members of Parliament; the representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, Dr. Ali Kamouna; businessmen; the President of the Iraqi Engineers Syndicate, Dhu Al-Fiqar Al-Maksousi; and a number of college deans, professors, and students.
