Discussion of Graduation Projects for Fourth-year Students
The Biology Department at the College of Education for Pure Sciences discussed graduation projects for fourth-year students. The projects covered various topics, including environmental sustainability, recycling, and the most prevalent diseases currently, their causes, and treatments. The research discussion sessions included 15 sessions. Students presented their research to the relevant committee and presented the most important findings through a presentation. The research project resulted in planting five wheat seeds in plastic pots. The first factor of the experiment was spraying gibberellic acid at three concentrations (0, 150, and 300) mg/L-1, followed by two sprays of the acid on four and eight leaves. The second factor involved using water with a salinity of 1 and 3 dS m-1. Data and statistics were analyzed and significant differences were found for most of the studied traits compared to the control treatment. The number of experimental units was 18. Spraying was done in the early morning to prevent evaporation and increase the plant’s absorption of the foliar spray. The objective of the graduation project discussion was to guide students in addressing the problems they encountered during the research period and to develop solutions to difficulties in the scientific aspect.
