The minister of higher education and scientific research, the chairman of the Iraqi Atomic Energy Authority, Dr. Naim al-Aboudi, met with the Foreign Minister of Hungary Peter Sarto on the sidelines of participation in the 13th edition of the International Atomic Energy Forum (Atomexpo), which is being held in the Russian city of Sochi.
The two sides welcomed the coordination between the two countries in the scientific and academic fields and agreed to renew the bilateral cooperation agreement, while the parties, in the presence of their accompanying delegations, expressed the importance of updating the scientific and cultural exchange tracks and enabling the Universities of the two countries to academic programs of common interest.
For his part, the minister of higher education and scientific research stressed the need to increase the number of study seats granted to Iraqi students in the specialties of nuclear energy engineering and nuclear and radiation physics, while at the same time called on Hungarian students to study at Iraqi universities within the study in Iraq program.
The minister of Education explained the strategy adopted by Iraq to develop the zero nuclear reactor, clean energy plants and establish a specialized environment for Educational Research in cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency.
