URAP Classification

Iraqi universities have registered important competitive positions in the URAP global classification in its version for the year 2023/24.
The official website (https://urapcenter.org/…/2023-2024/World_Ranking_2023-2024) showed a ranking of (3000) universities around the world, while eleven Iraqi universities strengthened their positions in the ranking, namely the universities of Baghdad (1262) and the universities of technology (1671). And Babylon (2130), Basra (2164), Al-Mustansiriya (2249), Al-Mustaqbal (2315), Mosul (2362), Kufa (2523), Al-Qadisiyah (2729), Central Technology (2761), and the Islamic University (2836).
The URAP classification is based on evaluating the academic performance of institutions according to indicators of scientific articles (21%), citations (21%), the total number of research papers (10%), the total influence of articles (18%), the total influence of citations (15%), and international cooperation (15%).
It is worth noting that Iraq ranked 37th in the world after 13 universities achieved competitive positions in The Times classification, while Iraqi universities and colleges recorded their increasing competition in other global classifications, including the Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects for the year 2023, in which they appeared. The University of Baghdad is included in the specialty (Dentistry & Oral Sciences), the (QS) classification, in which there are two universities, the (Scimago) classification, in which there are forty-seven institutions, the (Greenmetric) classification, in which the number of Iraqi educational institutions has increased to seventy-four universities and colleges, and the RUR classification, in which there are five. Forty Iraqi universities, in addition to the Webometrics classification, recorded the attendance and competition of more than a hundred Iraqi universities and colleges.
