Dean of the College of Education for Pure Sciences Publishes a Scientific Article about Gold Nanoparticles

Scientific Article

The esteemed Dean of the College of Education for Pure Sciences, Prof. Dr. Hamida Idan Salman, obtained acceptance for publication of a scientific article titled (Gold Nanoparticles) by the Scientific Articles Committee at the Presidency of the University of Karbala after the article fulfilled all publication conditions. Prof. Dr. Hamida Eidan Salman stated that gold is considered one of the first metals to be discovered, as the history of its study and applications extends at least several thousand years. The first data on colloidal gold can be found in the treatises of Chinese, Arab and Indian scientists, who were able to obtain colloidal gold as early as the fifth and fourth centuries BC. It was used for medicinal purposes (“golden solution” in China and “liquid gold” in India), and for many other uses. In Europe during the Middle Ages, colloidal gold was studied and used in chemists’ laboratories. The first book on colloidal gold, which exists to this day, was published in 1618 by the philosopher and physician Francisco Antoni. Gold nanoparticles (GNPs) are colloidal particles of nanometer-sized gold particles. It is known that gold nanoparticles are the most stable, as they are prepared in different shapes and structures, including nanospheres, nanopillars, nanotubes, nanobranches, nanopyramids, and nanoflowers. , nanoarcs, nanowires, and nanocages, by using different manufacturing techniques.
