A Lecturer from the Department of Biology Publishes a Scientific Article on Mycotoxins, Causes and Prevention

Scientific Article

A lecturer in the College of Education for Pure Sciences/Department of Biology, Dr. (Ban Musa Hasan), obtained an acceptance to publish a tagged scientific article entitled (Mycotoxins: Causes and Prevention) by the Scientific Articles Committee at the Presidency of the University of Karbala after the article fulfilled all publishing conditions. (Prof. Dr. Ban Musa Hassan) stated that the name Mycotoxin (mycotoxin) came from the Greek language derived from mykes meaning fungus and toxicom poison, which are secondary metabolic products produced by fungi that produce toxins that can cause death and disease For humans and animals, where more than 400 types of mycotoxins were discovered in different places all over the world.
Mycotoxins in general are secondary metabolic products produced by some fungi that are capable of producing them, and are characterized by a low partial weight, which leads to the inability of the immune system to recognize them. Therefore, they accumulate in the tissues of various organs such as the spleen, kidneys, and liver, and are considered one of the most dangerous types of toxins known, because of their ability to Withstand very high temperatures. These toxins have various other effects, as they cause inhibition in the immune system, in addition to congenital malformations, kidney poisoning, and Teratogenicity of fetuses. They have the ability to cause chronic and acute effects, such as disturbances in the central nervous system and blood vessels as a result of continuously eating foods that contain varying concentrations of these toxins.
