A lecturer from the Department of Life Sciences at the College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Karbala, Dr. (Fatima Karim Khudair), published scientific research in an international journal (ANNALS OF FOREST RESEARCH) titled Molecular Taxonomic Study For The Genus Juncus L. Juncaceae In Iraq Based On Chloroplast Gene Rpl 16. Where the study included the use of other genes of other families and different species to identify similar and new traits and prove the evolutionary relationship. This study aimed to investigate the taxonomic importance of rpl16in genes and the evolutionary relationships among the family (Junicaceae) in Iraq. The study included the molecular diagnostic obtained from the sequence of the Rpl16in the gene. The study also showed the cluster analysis and distribution of Juncus species.
