The Minister of Education Received the Swedish Ambassador
The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, received the Swedish Ambassador to Iraq, Jessica Svardstrom, and they discussed the horizon of scientific and academic cooperation between the universities of the two countries. During the meeting, the Minister of Education confirmed that Iraqi universities are ready to develop cooperation with their Swedish counterparts in the fields of cultural exchange, scholarships, twinning between universities and joint scientific research. He explained that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has established serious steps for academic coordination and cooperation with the European Union countries in order to benefit from expertise and successful experiences in the field of developing the higher education sector, especially with regard to the Bologna track and educational systems. For her part, Her Excellency the Ambassador expressed her appreciation for the vision in which the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research operates, stressing at the same time her country’s readiness to open positive horizons between educational institutions in both countries and to develop bilateral relations through international conferences, exchange visits and organizing memorandums of academic understanding.
