A Master’s Thesis in the College of Education for Pure Sciences Discusses the Study of the Immunological Criteria for People with Pulmonary Tuberculosis in Karbala Governorate

Discussion of a Master’s Thesis

College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Karbala discussed a master’s thesis entitled (Study of some immunological criteria for people with pulmonary tuberculosis in Karbala governorate), for the student (Mohammed Abbas Younis) from the Department of Life Sciences, under the supervision of a Prof. Hyam Abdel Reda. The study aimed at diagnosing tuberculosis in some patients and studying some immunological criteria in patients, and this diagnosis included the diagnosis of tuberculosis bacteria in patients, and studying the relationship of some immune criteria such as CD19, TLR4 to the immune response against the disease, and studying the effect of receiving treatment on the level of immune criteria, And studying the effect of some factors on infection rates, such as the age and gender of the patient. The results of the current study showed that the infection rate of males with pulmonary tuberculosis is higher than that of females, as the rate of male infection is 52.8% and female infection is 47.2%. The study also concluded that the level of the studied immunological criteria was not affected by gender, nor was it affected by age among the age groups studied.
The student recommended conducting studies in the immune response against various viral and bacterial diseases, conducting a study on the role of the TLR family in the immune response against various viral and bacterial diseases, and using the Flow sytometry technique in conducting immunological tests and pathological analyzes for the accuracy of their results. The student was awarded with distinction.
