A study at the College of Education for Pure Sciences Discusses the Ability of a New Nano-Copolymer to Deliver Drug

Discussion of a Master’s Thesis

The Department of Chemistry at the College of Education for Pure Sciences / University of Karbala discussed the master’s thesis entitled (Studying the ability of a new nano-copolymer to deliver drugs), by the student (Maha Mahdi Obaid Al-Jubouri), and under the supervision of Prof. Muhammad Nazim Bahgat. The thesis aims to use a new monomer in building the polymer network, use a new protein to load the polymer disk, and use new concentrations in the drug. The thesis showed that the nano-copolymer that was synthesized and diagnosed through the following techniques: (FT-IR, 1H-MNR, DSC, AFM, XRD, TEM) has the ability to load and release the drug in the basic medium with a high efficiency compared to what it was in the acidic medium. at a constant temperature. The researcher recommended studying the possibility of benefiting from new proteins for the purpose of loading them onto tablets of nanopolymer, conducting a study of new and different concentrations of drugs, as well as studying the possibility of using new monomers in building the polymer network. The student received an honors grade.
