Research Publication

Assist. Prof. Dr. Bassim Karim Khudair, a lecturer in the Department of Mathematics in the College of Education for Pure Sciences, gains a publication for his research, which is entitled (Indirect spectral aggregation method based on variable Jacobi functions to solve some categories of partial optimal control problems) in the (Arab Journal of Mathematical Sciences), which is one of the reputable scientific journals. The Journal is included in the Scopus classification group of international scientific journals.

The research aimed to derive a new approximation formula for the derivatives of the Riemann-Liouville fractions based on the classical Jacobian polynomial transformation in spectral approximations. This formula is introduced to approximate the indirect solution to partial optimal control problems (FOCPs) with a fractional differential equation as the dynamic constraint. The properties of the new formula allow us to use the spectroscopic aggregation method to reduce FOCPs indirectly to a system of linear/nonlinear algebraic equations. Four test examples are presented to check the applicability and validity of a newly designed method
