The College of Education for Pure Sciences organizes an electronic training course entitled (Traditional and molecular diagnosis of fungi and registration in the genetic bank and the genetic tree)

Training course

The Department of Biology Sciences at the College of Education for Pure Sciences organized an electronic training course entitled (Diagnosing Fungi Traditionally and Partially and Registering with Genebank and Genetic Tree), delivered by Prof. Ban Taha Muhammad / College of Education for Pure Sciences / University of Karbala and Prof. Dr.. Adnan Abdul-Jalil Lahouf / Faculty of Agriculture / Karbala University, the course was delivered electronically via Google Meet The topics of the course were: traditional fungi diagnosis, molecular diagnosis of fungi and the use of the Microsoft BLAST program. The aim of the course was to define fungi, how to isolate and cultivate them in appropriate media, how to prepare them for the traditional laboratory diagnosis, the factors that help in the success and accuracy of the diagnosis, and how to use the classification keys for each group or genus of fungi. And the diagnosis of the mechanism used to isolate the genetic material of the fungi to be diagnosed primarily based on the traditional diagnosis, as well as the use of the mechanism used to isolate the genetic material and the use of more accurate methods in diagnosing fungi without relying on the traditional diagnosis, which is the use of Sequencing; Prob + Primer and prefix design. How to use the Basic Local Alignment Search Tool (BLAST), register with the Global Genebank, and how to define the genetic tree, similarities, and more.
