The Department of Life Sciences discusses a Master’s thesis using the zoom program

Discussion of a master thesis entitled Study of the protective role of raspberry plant extract

In the Department of Life Sciences at the College of Education for Pure Sciences / University of Karbala, a discussion of the thesis entitled “Study of the protective role of berries extract on some blood and tissue changes of the college in rats treated with sodium fluoride” was conducted by the student Shatha Jalal Aziz Al-Mousawi, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Naseer Mirza Hamza, on Wednesday 22/4/2020, and on the discussion hall. The discussion was conducted using the Zoom electronic platform to communicate with a member of the committee, and the aim of the discussion was to demonstrate the protective role of the berry drug in curbing the toxic effects of sodium fluoride on the following criteria: the concentration of blood electrolytes (sodium, potassium, calcium, urea, creatinine), antioxidant standards in Blood, which includes (CAT, SOD), total blood protein concentration (Albumin, Globulin), and kidney tissue structure. The study led to conclusions including: When treated with sodium fluoride, it leads to a significant decrease in animal weights and the occurrence of tissue changes in all animals, including the appearance of bloody congestion and cell death along with glomerulus shrinkage. Also, treatment with sodium fluoride resulted in a significant decrease in blood proteins and antioxidants when treatment, and a significant increase in blood electrolytes (sodium, potassium, calcium, urea, creatine). When treating cranberry extract, there were clear positive changes against the toxic effects in biochemical parameters, creatinine level, urea and blood electrolytes. It also led to a protection in the kidney tissues from the toxic effects of sodium fluoride. The discussion came out with several recommendations, including: As a result of the high costs of indicative medicine, traditional treatment was encouraged and relied upon and the use of traditional or popular medicines on a large scale for centuries, which came at the forefront of medicinal plants as they contain a large number of chemical compounds, which made them of great pharmacological value In addition to being a food source for humans, the term medicinal plants has been used on some plants that contain important chemical compounds that are used for medicinal purposes, including cranberries. Alternative medicine has given special attention to its use to prevent diseases such as diabetes and diseases The bladder and eye diseases and various injuries, as indicated books of alternative medicine that cranberry is one of the nutrients and Almadrrh urine and cleanses the mouth and reduce the proportion of sugar in the blood, so can the use of the product in the treatment of skin diseases such as burns and blisters. The discussion was attended by Mrs. Dean of the College Hamida Idan Salman and a number of college teachers.
