The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Nabil Kazem Abdel Sahib, discussed with the American organization (IREX) specialized in education and development mechanisms and possibilities of cooperation to establish a technological incubator, sponsor rare specialties, support renewable energy projects and joint scientific and medical research fields with Iraqi universities.
This came when he received a delegation from (IREX), headed by the advisor and supervisor of the organization’s work in Iraq, Laurie Mason, in the presence of representatives of the departments of missions, cultural relations, studies, planning and follow-up. The Minister of Education reviewed the priorities of cooperation of Iraqi universities with the international organization, especially with regard to renewable energy projects, scientific and medical research, laboratory development and twinning programs with American universities, support for specialized Iraqi scientific journals, raising the level of their presence in global capacities, providing training opportunities for graduate students in the fields of applied scientific research, and providing Advanced courses for Iraqi doctors in American scientific centers and agencies, infrastructure support in newly established and edited universities, and facilitation of visa procedures for Iraqi students to study in the United States. In turn, the representatives of the organization welcomed the proposals and visions presented by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and its keenness to develop levels of scientific cooperation and the cross-fertilization of academic experiences and their intercourse through special programs for development, development and qualification, focusing on the areas of scientific research, updating curricula, facing challenges and crystallizing coordination requirements with IREX. The Minister of Education reiterated his keenness to strengthen and develop global partnerships with international organizations, stressing that the Ministry of Education and its academic and scientific institutions have made exceptional efforts to keep pace with developments and changes in order to achieve goals that serve the community.
