Master Thesis Discussion
The Department of Biolgy in the College of Education for Pure Sciences / University of Karbala discusses a master’s thesis entitled (Study of some immunological aspects of women infected with Trichomonas vaginalis parasite) by the student (Huda Abdullah Mohsen Al-Abedi) and supervised by (Asst.Dr. Kawthar Abdul-Hussein Mahdi). The study aimed to investigate the prevalence of the Trichomonas vaginalis parasite with some epidemiological factors such as age, educational attainment, marital status, number of births, age of marriage, place of residence, use of contraceptives, abortion, cases of infertility and childbearing, and months of the year. The study also showed that the percentage of infection with trichomoniasis vaginalis among women was 28.57%, which is a significant number of women carrying the parasite in Karbala governorate, which acts as a major reservoir for transmitting the parasite to other people. The highest incidence of trichomoniasis vaginalis was recorded among the age group (15-24) years, then the incidence decreases with age. The study recommended spreading health awareness for the treatment of sexually transmitted diseases, especially trichomoniasis, and emphasizing the treatment of the sexual partner. The student obtained the distinction.
