Dean of the College of Education for Pure Sciences Publishes a Scientific Article on Water Pollution and its Types

The Dean of the College of Education for Pure Sciences, Prof. Dr. Hamida Idan Salman, obtained an acceptance to publish a scientific article titled (Water Pollution and its Types) by the Scientific Articles Committee at the Presidency of Karbala University, after the article fulfilled all publication conditions. (Prof. Dr. Hamida Idan Salman) mentioned that water plays a major role in the life of living organisms (humans, animals, plants), and it is the nerve of life and the most important component of its components. Do they not believe?” (Al-Anbiya/30) as water constitutes 71% of the globe and 70% of the human body, and it is the essential element for human stability and the prosperity of his civilization. Wherever water is found, there are manifestations of life. Thus, water pollution is one of the most important environmental pollution problems. Where water pollution takes different forms, and causes different repercussions, and therefore the concepts of water pollution are numerous. It can be defined as causing damage or corruption to the quality of water, which leads to an imbalance in its ecosystem, thus reducing its ability to perform its natural role and making it harmful when used, or losing a lot of its economic value, especially with regard to its fish resources and other aquatic organisms. Water pollution is also known as desecration of rivers, lakes and oceans, in addition to rainwater, wells and groundwater, which makes its water untreated and unusable, whether for humans, animals, plants and other aquatic organisms. Strange things that cause it to disturb it or give it an odor, color or taste, and microbes may be a source of pollution, making it a source of harassment or harm to the legitimate uses of life. Polluted water contains substances foreign to its natural component, which may be dissolved or suspended solids, or dissolved organic or inorganic materials, or such as bacteria, algae or parasites, which leads to a change in its natural, chemical or biological properties, making the water unsuitable for drinking or household consumption, as well as not suitable for use in agriculture or industry.
