A Lecturer from the Department of Biology Publishes a Scientific Article on the Uses of Aluminum and its Impact on the Biological Environment

Scientific Article

The lecturer in the College of Education for Pure Sciences / Department of biology, Asst. Prof. Dr. (Heba Alwan Abdel Salam), obtained an acceptance to publish a tagged scientific article entitled (The uses of aluminum and its impact on the biological environment) by the Scientific Articles Committee in the presidency of the University of Karbala after the article fulfilled all the conditions Publishing. Prof. Dr. Heba Alwan Abdel Salam mentioned that the use of aluminum salts is considered as a coagulant in water treatment as a result of reducing the number of small particles and improving the color of the water. In addition, it is used in the manufacture of containers and cooking materials. A study conducted to determine the percentage of aluminum leaching from containers made of aluminum in food solutions has shown that containers were taken from different manufacturing origins (Egypt and India) and when using minced meat with drinking water and tap water, it was noted The use of tap water led to more aluminum filtration than drinking water for both facilities, in addition to increasing its concentration when salt and citric acid were added to the meat extract. Aluminum As a result of its entry into the food and the human body, acidic media lead to the erosion of large amounts of aluminum from cooking utensils made of aluminum, such as tomato sauces . Aluminum is present in food naturally or in food packaging materials. It is also present in food made from potatoes, spinach, and milk production materials. It is possible that infant food contains a percentage of aluminum if it depends on formula milk, especially soy milk. The concentration of aluminum in food has been calculated in Many western countries, and in general, people are interested in aluminum that enters the body through food, especially people who take antacids and allergy medications on a regular basis. It is possible that the level of aluminum in these people reaches 5g/day.
