The Department of Chemistry Holds a Panel Discussion on Tin Oxide and its Advantages

Panel Discussion

Within the series of scientific activities in the scientific departments and to urge students, specifically (graduate students) to scientific interaction and continuous activity, the Department of Chemistry established Sumner entitled Synthesis, characterization and application of semiconductor nanoparticles for the Removal of Mefenamic Acid from Aqeous Solution. It was cast (by student Heba Ali Hamza). In this research, tin oxide was selected due to its characteristics:
1- It is basically an inorganic compound with the chemical formula SnO2
2- Insoluble in water
3- Low cost
4- Its nature is non-toxic
5- It has high thermal stability
6- It is considered a semiconductor
*The research aimed to:
1- Chemical precipitation method
2- The sol-gel method
3- Studying the ability of SnO2NPS to remove mefenamic acid from its aqueous solution
We wish all our students these active scientific initiatives because of their important and effective role for the academic student… and from God Almighty success and payment.
