An Educational Trip to the Ancient City of Babylon and the Modern City of Hammurabi
The Chemistry Department at the College of Education for Pure Sciences organized an educational trip for third-year evening students to the ancient city of Babylon and the modern city of Hammurabi. The trip was accompanied by a group of faculty members from the department:
• Mr. Hussein Ali Ahmed • Ms. Nada Habib Obaid • Mr. Amir Salem Mohammed • Ms. Nasreen Alaa El-Din Hashem
This trip aimed to enrich students’ knowledge and develop their cultural and scientific awareness through direct exposure to the rich cultural heritage of Babylon and to familiarize them with the archaeological sites that embody the depth of Mesopotamian civilization. The visit also sought to bridge the gap between theory and practice by introducing students to the modern city of Hammurabi and its role as a model that blends historical authenticity with modern development.
These activities are part of the department’s commitment to providing an integrated educational environment that promotes students’ intellectual openness, builds their scientific and cultural character, and strengthens their connection to their rich cultural heritage.
