Prof. Dr. Ashwaq Kadhim Obaid from the Department of Biology delivered a distinguished scientific lecture to second-year students in the morning program at the Department of Biology, as part of the requirements for the Histology course.
The lecture addressed the topic of blood tissue as one of the most important connective tissues in the body. Dr. Obaid explained its cellular and plasma components, its essential functions in transporting gases, nutrients, and hormones, and its vital role in immunity and regulating the body’s homeostasis.
The lecture was distinguished by the interactive approach adopted by the professor. She clarified the concepts of the subject through presentations, microscopic images, and a detailed explanation of the anatomical and physiological characteristics of each blood component, which contributed to solidifying the students’ scientific understanding.
This lecture is part of a series of scientific activities offered by the department to enhance the students’ academic level and provide them with up-to-date knowledge in the field of histology and life sciences.
