A Cultural Festival

Based on the saying of Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him): “The Quran is God’s covenant with His creation,” and within the framework of disseminating Quranic culture and strengthening spiritual and intellectual values ​​among students, and under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Education for Pure Sciences, Prof. Dr. Hamida Aidan Salman, and the supervision of the Head of the Department of Biology, Asst. Prof. Dr. Alaa Hussein Mahdi, the College of Education for Pure Sciences held a cultural festival entitled:

“The Festival of Lights of Knowledge and the Quran,” in cooperation with the Holy Quran Institute of the Holy Quran Scientific Complex at the Abbasid Holy Shrine.

The festival witnessed a large turnout of faculty and students, who celebrated the occasion.

The festival opened with a beautiful group recitation by the participating Quranic group, followed by a series of Quranic presentations by students of the college who had memorized the Holy Quran. These students presented examples of masterful memorization and fluent recitation, reflecting their interest in Quranic sciences and their eagerness to develop their spiritual and intellectual abilities simultaneously.

The festival also included a series of Quranic, conceptual, and dialogue-based lectures addressing diverse topics related to the interpretation of selected verses, the impact of the Holy Quran on refining human behavior, and its role in establishing the principles of moderation and balance. Furthermore, educational and intellectual concepts derived from the Quranic text were discussed.

The festival concluded by emphasizing the importance of instilling Quranic culture within the university community and the necessity of supporting such activities that combine knowledge and faith, opening new horizons for students to elevate their thinking and behavior in accordance with the teachings of the Holy Quran.
